TWO POEMS by VICTORIA TOYKKALA

monsoon

i am a woman on a path of destruction

i am the ruins

my body an architecture

once intact

now bent

& fragmented

i am a monsoon

gusting upon the warm climate you inhabit

& creating storms

within you

ministrations

originally published in DREICH 10 (Season 4), May 2022

her voice

her presence

a malignancy

invading my happiest thoughts

give me treatment to be free of this metastases

rid me of these feelings i have for her
