TWO POEMS by SPENCER ECKART
Golden Egg
Kyle had a kid just to prove to the fellas he’d gotten laid they had him take a paternity test and everything it was honestly fucked up and then they tracked down the mother of his child now happily married to the secretary of agriculture and she confirmed that it was indeed so and so they all agreed yeah ok he did the deed and out of pride for their brother had a cookout at which Kyle was the guest of honor it got pretty weird for those without context and frankly for those with and the baby now a few months old was dressed as a golden egg and they did a whole golden goose bit it really was very strange and Kyle at that juncture realized that he needed new friends and by the grace of God made some and he sought out his baby mama and asked her to marry him and she said what are you crazy
Dancing On My Own
I did a little solo dance
in the middle of the clurb
(I would not miss my moment)
One leg crossed the other
and twirled me around 360
In my mind
everybody cheered
and bought me
a million million beers
