A POEM by MIRO

Chicken Sandwich

i am a loose goose idiot

on two mezcal cocktails

and a chicken sandwich,

fried, because health

is a construct like the calendar,

like time created to offer

the illusion of stability though if we all

stopped for a moment and got real

quiet, we’d feel the earth

wobbling like a loose goose idiot

lightweight cheap date giggling

her way through the chaos

on her second mezcal cocktail

in search of the perfect chicken

sandwich, fried.
