TWO THINGS by MARK BLICKLEY

Carla Monologue

Eric! Eric! Where is my Eric? Everything that man ever played, he played for me! You hear me! D0--YOU--HEAR--ME!?

Eric Tesler has been making love to me every day for the past ten years! (SCRUNCHES FACE IN DISGUST) For those of you pigs out there, I don’t mean sexual intercourse! I’m talking about the old fashion meaning of making love when making love meant a man wooed his beloved with soft words and the sounds of romance.

I am Eric Telser’s muse! The inspiration that connects his heart to his brain! DO—YOU—HEAR—ME? Are you able to listen to unrequited passion without mockery? Can you be moved by the glory of sacred human connection?

My baby….my joy....my most intimidate confident….You will always have my heart, my loyalty, my respect, my protection, my lust, my awe, and my EARS!

SHE CUPS HER HANDS OVER HER EARS AND SCREAMS.

Rage in a Cage

You sit on your fat ass and watch me sweat

While I spin on that wheel, tryin’ to forget

I’m just a shit stained rodent, your captured pet

Ready to bite your balls off cause I’m a manly threat

I gots rage in the cage cause I’m no dancin’ fool

I gots rage in the cage so shove your ridicule

I gots rage in the cage goin’ ‘round this circle jerk

I gots rage in the cage for a white man who don’t work

Mark Blickley grew up within walking distance of the Bronx Zoo. He is a proud member of the Dramatists’ Guild and PEN American Center.
