A POEM by CLEM FLOWERS

You, Me, and 1959

Salvation

was promised every Sunday

but I only ever

found it in your lips

when we'd sneak

a kiss

back behind the Noah's Ark mural

in front of the rec room with the carpet going halfway up the wall

when Sunday school let out for the main service

Clem Flowers (they/them) is a poet, eldritch horror, & soft spoken southern transplant living in a mountain's shadow in Utah. They're on an eternal quest to be the host in constant disbelief in an infomercial. NB, bi, and queer as the day is long, they live in a cozy apartment with their wonderful wife & sweet calico kitty.
